Sean McCrea (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Since the age of 5, Sean has had an affinity for sports and has taken part in team sports since then. He loves the challenge of overcoming adversity as well as the process that it takes to become a successful athlete. This love for sports has affected his career and life choices. Sean began his rowing career as a walk-on novice athlete for Long Beach State University in 2014. He rowed for three years with Beach Crew and transitioned into coaching after he graduated with a B.S. Degree in Kinesiology in 2017. He has also been a personal trainer since 2014 and worked with the USRowing U17/U18 Junior National Team High Performance Camp as an intern in 2016 and 2018. He additionally coached for USRowing’s U17/18 Olympic Development Program (ODP) in 2019, helping the Northwest Men’s Region win the Men’s Team Points trophy. From 2016-2019, Sean was also an intern with Long Beach State’s Strength and Conditioning Complex and worked with D1 NCAA athletes from a variety of sports.
Sean was Assistant Coach with Long Beach State Men’s Rowing for the 2017-2018 season and Head Coach for 2018-2019. Beach Crew enjoyed their success at multiple regattas with Sean, most notably the silver medal finishes in the Men’s 2X and Men’s Novice Lightweight 4 at WIRA in 2019. He is grateful for the opportunity to now coach at UCSB and looks forward to being a positive influence for the program.

Alyssa is excited to work with the varsity women and aims to continue the legacy of competitive excellence, while fostering a passion for the sport, and a commitment to the growth and development of the whole athlete.
Liann Jimmons (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Liann grew up in Huntington Beach where she competed in everything from cheerleading to wrestling. She started rowing at UCSB her freshman year as a walk-on athlete as Liann was eager for a new challenge. After four years of hard work, she is a proud legacy alumna of the UCSB Rowing team who graduated in 2018 with a B.S. in Biological Sciences. She won three national titles at ACRA in 2016, 2017, and 2018 with her crew, so she knows that anyone can become a champion here firsthand. Since then, Liann has been a staff researcher with the UCSB Institute of Collaborative Biotechnolgies. In addition to coaching the Women’s Novice team, she will be starting a graduate program for a Master of Science in Genetic Counseling this fall at UCSB. As a coach, Liann is excited to help the next class of athletes unlock their potential to become champions and inspire greatness. She hopes to pass on the values that she learned in this program as an athlete, from lessons in body positivity and strength to maintaining an unrelenting drive and determination to always go after her goals.
